Newton Family

This family session was sandwiched between two storm cells on the Quad of James Madison University. The post-graduation campus was quiet and calm. As the Newton’s smiled and candidly posed, the gray masses grew in the sky. The wind shifted to an upward draft and we wrapped up our session. The result: filtered natural light, rich colors, no squinting and wind blown looks for this model family.

Wimer Family {mini}

I met with the Wimer’s one spring Saturday morning at the JMU Arboretum. Everything that had been bare just weeks before, was now lush and green and blooming all over the place! What a sweet gem of a spot we have here in Harrisonburg. Misty and her four guys were so much fun to work with! I’m excited to see more of this family in the future and watch as these three unique personalities develop into strong young men!

Fuller-Hughes

This baby bump session is extra special to me because this beautiful mama-to-be is my cousin. Kasey and Josh are expecting their very first baby boy in late May and I just couldn’t wait to get my lens on that belly! So many loving arms are waiting for the arrival of this sweet bundle of joy.

Jess & Bella

Jess is an old friend of mine and a mommy-daughter photo session seemed like the perfect excuse to get together for a catching up session. Sweet little Bella was a moving target of all moving targets. But with a swift mama and beautiful spring weather, I didn’t mind the challenge.

Zweigler Wedding

This certainly didn’t feel like a photography job. I attended this wedding because my good friend, Lisa, was marrying her love, Jim.  It was a small, intimate wedding in Lisa’s backyard barn, complete with the classiest chandelier I’ve seen in a barn to date. A wedding that required guests to shoot tequila before the ceremony began and when it ended. A wedding that left me relying on auto-focus with hopes to still capture clear images through tears of joy. Cheers to good friends and good times on sunny days. More please.

Below is a small collection of photos the bride asked me to share:
